Starting From the Bottom
Believe it or not, we started from scratch, just like every other aspiring business out there. Our original name, Priority Management Services, or PMS for short (cue laughter), was our quirky beginning. But, hey, we've come a long way from there.
Back in 2009, our fearless leader, John, was juggling more hats than a circus clown. He did part-time design work and job site as-builts, where he'd be the master of final photographs and measurements at construction sites and properties. And if that wasn't enough, he was also wrapping up his career at Washington Gas while freelancing for other construction companies. Talk about multitasking!
From 2009 to 2015, John was like a determined bulldozer, slowly but steadily building our foundation. Then, from 2015 to 2019, he went all in, doing more of the same but raking in more jobs and property management clients. But, just when things were really taking off, the Covid-19 pandemic threw us a curveball. Yep, even business superheroes like us had to hit the pause button. 🦠
Growth Opportunities
But here's where the plot twist comes in! John started picking up clients down in South Carolina and Georgia, and maintenance services became our bread and butter. In the summer of 2021, he leveled up by getting his LLC, transforming us into a full-blown corporation, and we moved into our shiny Prince Frederick office. Upgrade alert!
Now, getting our name out there wasn't as easy as snapping our fingers (though we wish it were). We relied heavily on one marketing strategy - our trusty website. Most of our info and bookings came from that good ol' site. John also worked his magic by getting on job lists, going door-to-door, and meeting clients face-to-face. Referrals became our secret sauce, accounting for over 65% of our business growth!
Where we are Today
Fast forward to today, and here we are, waving hello! We've expanded our reach into seven states: Maryland, D.C., Delaware, Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. We've embraced modern marketing, rocking it on social media platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Our website has gotten a makeover, and voila, you're reading our fantastic blog right now! Our Maryland team has grown to 9, while South Carolina and Georgia boast a team of 21 rockstars. We've also got over 100 sub-contracting companies in our corner, helping us get the job done right, on time, every time.
But wait, there's more! We've supercharged our marketing game with email campaigns (you should totally subscribe to our newsletter - it's a hoot!), and guess what? John still loves face-to-face chats and those good old door-to-door meetings and appointments. Old-school charm, meet modern innovation!
Goals for the Future
So, what's our grand plan for the future, you ask? Over the next 5 years, John's got big dreams. He wants to expand into 10 more states and watch our business soar to over $20 million annually. But it's not just about the numbers; it's about our amazing team. John's all about giving our folks room to grow, fostering a team spirit, and creating that business-family atmosphere.
